Paste your last 3 LinkedIn posts. Get your Bridging Score, specific flags, and tips in 60 seconds — built for independent consultants.

What this tool tells you:

  • Whether your hooks open with a pitch or a diagnostic frame.
  • Whether your post read time falls in the LinkedIn sweet spot.
  • Whether your CTAs pitch, ask, or teach.
  • Whether your language assumes trust that has not been built yet.

How the Bridging Score works

Each post starts at a baseline of 30 ("neutral — not hurting, not helping"). The score moves up or down based on four components, then is clamped between 0 and 100. The composite across your posts lands in one of four bands.

Hook strength (−15 to +25)

The opening line. Pitches lose points; diagnostic framings, numbers, and questions gain points.

Read time (0 to +20)

Posts under 40 words are too thin; 40–200 is the LinkedIn sweet spot; 200–500 works for depth; 500+ should be used sparingly.

CTA type (−10 to +25)

Hard-sell markers ("DM me", "book a call", "link in bio") always deduct, regardless of other language. Value-first framings earn the most.

Bridging language (−25 to +40)

Markers like "here are 3 signs" and "most X don't realize" bridge to a second-degree audience. Transactional phrases pull the score down.

What your score actually measures

The Bridging Score is a diagnostic, not a grade. It does not predict revenue. It surfaces structural patterns in your posts that either attract second-degree trust or push it away. The fix for a low score is never "post more" — it is "rewrite the opening line, the closing line, and the language in between."

Why consultant LinkedIn posts fail

The full analysis is in the companion guide: Why Are My Social Media Posts Not Getting Engagement? (The Consultant's Guide). The short version: consultants write as if their whole audience already knows them. Second-degree prospects need demonstrated competence before they engage. This tool is one way to audit that gap.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Bridging Score?

A Bridging Score (0-100) measures whether your LinkedIn posts are calibrated for second and third-degree audiences who do not yet trust you, or stuck in first-degree language meant for people who already do. It scores four components — hook strength, read time, CTA type, and bridging language — then classifies the composite into one of four bands: Too Transactional, Getting There, Bridge Builder, and Attraction Engine.

Why are my LinkedIn posts not getting engagement as a consultant?

Most consultant LinkedIn content fails because it assumes trust that has not been built yet. You are writing for your first-degree network using language meant for people who already know your work. Second and third-degree prospects need to see demonstrated competence before they engage. Lead with free diagnostic insights, not service pitches.

How does the Engagement-to-Lead Diagnostic work?

The tool runs a rule-based scoring algorithm entirely in your browser. It analyzes the opening line of each post, the reading time, the type of call-to-action, and the specific language markers that signal bridging versus transactional intent. Nothing is sent to a server until you choose to receive your full report by email.

What makes a LinkedIn post score well for consultants?

The highest-scoring posts open with a diagnostic frame ("3 signs your ops team is underperforming"), land in the 40-200 word sweet spot, close with a value-first CTA ("Here is how to audit your own pipeline"), and use language that assumes the reader does not yet trust you. Posts that open with "I help X achieve Y", end in "DM me" or "book a call", or reference "our services" consistently score low.

Is this tool free?

Yes. The diagnostic is free to use. You only need to provide your name and email to receive the full per-post breakdown and actionable tips. Your score is calculated in your browser at zero cost.

What do I do with my Bridging Score?

Your score tells you where to focus. Posts in the "Too Transactional" band need their hooks and CTAs rewritten first. Posts in "Getting There" often have good bones but weak CTAs or thin word counts. "Bridge Builder" and "Attraction Engine" posts are working — double down on the pattern that produced them.
