Product Rotation & Exclusion
How your AI cycles through catalog items and how to control which items get featured.

How product rotation works
Your AI Manager doesn't post about the same catalog item every day. It tracks:
- Last Featured At — when this item was last posted about
- Times Featured — total post count for this item
- Platform Featured — which platforms have posted about this item
It uses this data to rotate through your catalog, giving all items balanced exposure.
The rotation algorithm
When creating a post, your AI Manager:
- Checks which catalog items haven't been featured recently
- Considers the item's tag (balancing Product vs. Team vs. Educational content)
- Looks at platform (if item has been on Instagram 5x but never on LinkedIn, it prioritizes LinkedIn)
- Factors in events (items with active “Treat as Event” get priority during their event window)
- Picks an item and marks it as featured
Result: variety without repetition.
When to exclude an item
Use the Exclude toggle when:
- Item is sold out (but you don't want to delete the record)
- Service is on hold or not currently offered
- Seasonal item is out of season (or use Treat as Event instead)
- You want to keep the item for later but pause posts now
Exclude vs. Delete
- Exclude = pauses posts, keeps the record (you can un-exclude later)
- Delete = permanently removes item from catalog
Manually featuring an item
Don't want to wait for rotation? You can manually trigger posts about specific items using AI Instructions (separate feature): “Post about our Summer Sale catalog item this week.”
But usually, letting your AI Manager rotate is better — it prevents overposting any single item.
Pro Tips
- •If one item never gets featured, check: is it excluded? Does it have media available?
- •For time-sensitive items, use Treat as Event — rotation prioritizes events.
- •Track “Times Featured” to see which items are working (high feature count = good engagement).
